Ueno

Ueno, located in Tokyo’s Taito ward, is a cultural and historical hub known for its mix of art, nature, and everyday charm. At the heart of the area lies Ueno Park, one of Tokyo’s largest and most beloved green spaces, famous for its cherry blossoms in spring and tranquil walking paths year-round. The park is home to several top attractions, including the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art, and Ueno Zoo, Japan’s oldest zoo. Nearby, Ameya-Yokocho, or Ameyoko, is a lively market street where visitors can browse a variety of goods, from fresh produce and seafood to clothes and street food, offering a nostalgic atmosphere. Ueno Station serves as a major gateway to northern Japan, adding to the area’s significance. With its mix of cultural institutions, natural beauty, and energetic market life, Ueno provides a down-to-earth yet enriching experience in the heart of Tokyo.
