The pandemic has been especially tough on Tokyo’s beloved small restaurants—the hidden gems that define the city’s culinary soul. Their good food, affordable prices, and cozy, one-of-a-kind atmospheres make them irreplaceable, but many struggled to withstand the challenges. It’s heartbreaking to see these places disappear while larger establishments manage to weather the storm.
