Narita

Narita, located in Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo, is best known as the site of Narita International Airport, Japan’s primary gateway for international travelers. Beyond the airport, Narita offers a mix of cultural charm and historical significance. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, a large and beautiful Buddhist temple with over 1,000 years of history, is the city’s main attraction, drawing visitors to its serene grounds, pagodas, and peaceful gardens. The nearby Naritasan Omotesando Street, a lively traditional shopping street, is lined with shops, local eateries, and vendors selling specialties like grilled eel (unagi) and traditional sweets. The area is also surrounded by lush countryside, providing a quieter, more rural experience just a short distance from the hustle of Tokyo. With its cultural sights, local flavors, and convenient location, Narita is more than just a transit point—it’s a charming destination in its own right. Here are some of the photos I captured during my visits. Enjoy your virtual tour!

At f/0.95, the dreamy, creamy bokeh takes over, isolating the subject beautifully with a soft, artistic vibe. It’s perfect for creating that shallow depth of field look. At f/5.6, the scene becomes much…

Snapped a few shots from the aircraft, a B777, while waiting for takeoff at Narita Airport. The tarmac was buzzing with activity, and ANA planes dominated the scene. Among them, a sleek Dreamliner (B787) stood out with its modern design. The lineup of aircraft and the busy atmosphere made for some great pre-flight captures.

ANA Lounge

Tried out the WiFi remote on my GX85 in the ANA Lounge at Narita, capturing a woman quietly reading a book. The reflection on the polished table added an elegant symmetry to the shot, complementing the serene atmosphere. A simple yet compelling subject, perfect for expanding my Getty collection.
