Nagano

Nagano, located in Japan’s mountainous heart, is a year-round destination renowned for its natural beauty, outdoor activities, and rich cultural heritage. As the host of the 1998 Winter Olympics, it is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts, with world-class ski resorts like Hakuba and Shiga Kogen. The city is also home to Zenkoji Temple, one of Japan’s most significant and historic Buddhist sites. Nearby, the famous snow monkeys of Jigokudani Monkey Park delight visitors as they soak in hot springs during the winter months. In warmer seasons, Nagano’s stunning landscapes, including Kamikochi and the Japanese Alps, provide opportunities for hiking, cycling, and nature exploration. Known for its delicious local specialties like buckwheat soba noodles and crisp apples, Nagano offers a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and traditional charm. Here are some of the photos I captured during my visits. Enjoy your virtual tour!
