Emergency Row
The emergency row might sound like a great spot for extra legroom, but I’ve come to dislike it for several reasons:
- No place to stow your bag, which always ends up in the overhead compartment for take-off and landing—annoying if you need something.
- The table is stored in the armrest, reducing seat width and comfort, especially on long-haul flights.
- Legroom can actually be worse than regular seats if you’re stuck next to the door or right in front of a wall
- Sitting face-to-face with the hostess during take-off and landing can be a bit awkward.
- It’s colder than most seats, thanks to the proximity to the doors.
- Often located near the loo in long-haul configurations, meaning constant traffic and sometimes unpleasant smells.
Definitely not the dream seat it’s often made out to be!
