Osaka

Osaka, Japan’s third-largest city, is a vibrant and energetic metropolis known for its food, nightlife, and friendly locals. Often referred to as the “Kitchen of Japan,” Osaka is a paradise for food lovers, offering iconic dishes such as okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), takoyaki (octopus balls), and kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), best enjoyed in the bustling streets of Dotonbori and Namba. The city seamlessly blends modern attractions with history, featuring landmarks like Osaka Castle, a symbol of the city’s rich past, and Shitennoji, Japan’s oldest Buddhist temple. For entertainment, Universal Studios Japan and the lively shopping districts of Umeda and Shinsaibashi offer endless excitement. Known for its humor, warm hospitality, and down-to-earth atmosphere, Osaka provides a lively and unforgettable experience that captures the heart and soul of Japan.

Here are some of the photos I captured during my visits. Enjoy your virtual tour!

Osaka River

Osaka River

The Dotombori River at night is pure Osaka magic. With neon lights reflecting on the water and the lively Minami area buzzing around it, it’s a scene full of energy and charm. The iconic Glico sign and other vibrant displays make it a must-see spot that perfectly captures the city’s spirited vibe. A photographer’s dream…

Takoyaki

Takoyaki

Did you know the Takoyaki originates from Osaka? I did not before visiting Osaka. They are quite good over there but to be honest, you can find equally good ones elsewhere in Japan (I’m actually thinking about a place in Ikaho Onsen, near the top of the stairs…).
