Nasu Highlands is a scenic highland region in Tochigi known for its cool summer climate, wide open landscapes, and peaceful countryside atmosphere. The area offers forest trails, rolling hills, hot springs, and easy outdoor activities that make it a refreshing escape from Tokyo. With its breezy highland air and relaxed rural charm, Nasu feels like a quieter, less crowded alternative to Karuizawa in my opinion, especially for travelers who want nature without the rush.
