Kurobe

Kurobe, located in Toyama Prefecture on Japan’s northern coast, is best known for its breathtaking natural scenery and the iconic Kurobe Gorge. One of the most beautiful ravines in Japan, the Kurobe Gorge can be explored via the Kurobe Gorge Railway, a scenic train ride offering stunning views of steep cliffs, dense forests, and crystal-clear rivers, especially vibrant during autumn when the foliage turns brilliant shades of red and gold. The region is also home to the impressive Kurobe Dam, Japan’s tallest dam, which attracts visitors for its engineering marvel and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Kurobe is a gateway to outdoor adventures, with hot springs like Unazuki Onsen providing a relaxing retreat amidst the area’s natural beauty. Known for its tranquility and dramatic landscapes, Kurobe offers a peaceful escape into some of Japan’s most stunning alpine scenery.
