Approved – Second Monitor
Since I always spend a lot of time comparing specs and performance before buying some new stuff, a good friend of mine suggested that I should post my recommendations and reviews on this blog, so today, let’s find a 2nd monitor for my iMac 5K.
With the iMac 5K display boasting a PPI of around 200, I I was looking for a monitor with a PPI of 100 so that everything would look the same size – in native resolution without scaling. Buying another retina display was not an option given that I only needed a small monitor for low priority apps on the side. I also needed good color accuracy for consistency, blue light reduction as I spend a lot of time in front of it, a usb-c input for when I upgrade to something else (Mac Studio), and the monitor had to be compatible with a VESA mount. My choice : the Dell 22 P2223H USB-C Monitor.
Been using it for a few weeks now and very happy with it. Perfect companion to my 5K display. The only drawback is that it does not have an automatic brightness adjustment but other than that it fulfills all my needs. Moving windows across the two monitors is very smooth and the little Dell does feel like a natural extension of the iMac.
