On holidays in Hokkaido, I wanted to travel light so decided to leave the RF50mm/f1.2L at home and took a much lighter RF50mm/f1.8 with me. Of course, it’s nowhere as good as the 1.2 but is the L version ten times as good (as it roughly costs 10 times as much). Not sure… I hope…
Large aperture at night with IBIS: thank you Fuji!
Enjoying being in Tokyo (and not on a business trip) for some new Hanami opportunities, this time with the “boys” in a famous cemetery in Tokyo. Lovely place.
More than 10 years in Iidabshi and this is my first visit there, just a 20min walk from Iidabashi and one subway stop away: Edogawabashi.

The colors are rich but need a bit of tweaking—Adobe’s RAW handling strikes again. With some fine adjustments, though, it’s all…
Shinrin Koen in Chiba truly earns its spot as the ultimate park escape near Tokyo. Just an hour’s drive from the city, it’s a green wonderland perfect for families and adventurers alike. Kids will love the wide-open spaces and fun activities, while parents can soak in the serene beauty of nature. Getting around is half…
Shinrin Koen, Japan’s sprawling natural playground, is a flower lover’s dream. Come spring, fields burst into life with waves of nemophila, their tiny blue petals mimicking a sky that’s fallen to earth. In autumn, crimson kochia balls roll out like fluffy fireballs, painting the landscape in dramatic reds. No matter the season, Shinrin Koen’s blooms…
